Here’s my escapist playlist
Music for me is and has always been escapist. I listen and let the sweet melodies carry me away to a good place.
Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of satellite radio in my new vehicle – particularly, the Coffeehouse station XM. I love the vibe, but wish there was a more diverse mix of coffeehouse sounds on there. The rotation seems to be unnecessarily small – but that’s for another post.
In the meantime, I’ve been playing with YouTube to see how a playlist can be strung together. The videos aren’t the point of this playlist – the audio is. I’ve looked for what I consider to be the best quality recordings of the best versions of the songs, with a leaning toward live versions. Some of the versions are not official and are based on the studio recording under some fan creative which is often not that well done.
Listen without prejudice. That’s always my policy. Let the music wash over you after a long hard week and go where it takes you. I’m always interested to hear where that is…
Listened to the list.. helped with my Friday afternoon.
Check this out, it’s a short but awesome song by a small band called Cloud Cult. Sadly the album version didn’t even do justice to this YouTube version

Great Friday afternoon listening. And thanks for the Cloud Cult share – I love the YouTube live-in-studio genre.
